Adieu
Maggie and Deryck Lindsey would like to say a really big thank you to all those
who were at the church and then the Swan when we finally said farewell to
Braybrooke back in January. We were really touched by all the good wishes,
gifts and cards we received and it was lovely to spend the day with so many
friends. We will always remember the time we spent in Braybrooke with huge
affection and those of you who know us will know what a big decision it was to
leave the village. Our house in Wales is now in the process of being renovated
and we hope to be able to move there during the summer. We really look forward
to welcoming friends from Braybrooke to our new home
With all best wishes to you all,
Maggie and Deryck
Lindsey.
Traffic Camera Volunteers
Just an update to the people who so kindly volunteered to join the speed watch
team for the village. Sadly, it now appears that funding has ceased for this
project. If the situation changes in anyway over the course of the next few
months we will inform everyone. Thank you for your support. The Parish Council
has accepted a proposal from Atkins for traffic control at the bridge and
church corner. Hopefully it will help the situation and the PC feels it is a
step in the right direction and a start.
Braybrooke PC.

Simon Grundy
Simon, who lives on the top road between Braybrooke and Great Oxendon suddenly
became paraplegic (he can't move his body from mid-back down) last October as a
result of a previous injury.
He has had surgery in Oxford and is now in Stoke
Mandeville for rehabilitation. He and Heather his wife with their two children
(9 and 13) hope to move to a bungalow in Arthingworth at the beginning of April
and 'God Willing' Simon will join them in May. The local authority provide
ramps and some equipment to help Simon manage life in a wheelchair, but some he
will have to provide for himself - for example an electric chair with footrest
and gym equipment needed to maintain muscle tone. If anyone has any ideas for
fundraising or contacts which may be of use to Simon then I will be happy to
coordinate or pass info on to Simon and Heather. If anyone knows Simon visitors
are always appreciated.

page or printed Gossip for address) who is also
looking for suitable photos,
village history etc. Watch this cyberspace!
